Observation Policy:
Drop off at the studio is highly encouraged (especially for dancers aged eight and older). For those parents wanting to stay, we have a lobby with chairs and a viewing screen.
Once a class starts, the studio door will remain closed until dancers are released for a break or until the end of class.
For young and new dancers, parents are allowed to sit in and watch their little one during their first class, but this does cause a distraction at times and could potentially upset their dancer once they no longer see their parents in the studio. For this reason, we encourage parents to take full advantage of the lobby screens and explain to their child ahead of class that they will be watching them from the lobby.
Attendance Policy:
Attendance in any learning setting is very important. If a child is to miss a class due to illness, we kindly ask that the parent or guardian of the child please call at least five hours prior to their scheduled class time. It is important that our instructors know ahead of time, so that they will be aware of their absence.
If your child will be going on a vacation, and will be absent for a few classes, please inform the studio as soon as you confirm your travel plans so that we can record your trip in our schedule, and we can reschedule your classes once you return. Please ask the office manager for available make up classes or to schedule a 30-minute private session with the instructor of the class you missed. This option is meant for missed classes that includes rehearsal.
If you are in a company, and we are in preparation mode for a recital or competition, attendance is very important and the lack of may result in not being in all of the parts in the dance routine. If your child has an injury that prohibits his or her ability to dance in class, we highly encourage our injured students to attend and observe. Company members are also required to attend all rehearsals, performances and competitions. Upon signing a contract to be a company member, there will be an outlined schedule of rehearsal and competition dates that are required to attend.
